GI Talk - Communication in Birds

Birdsong is the most familiar form of communication between birds and relates especially to courtship and territorial defence. Birds also employ other approaches including displaying specialised plumage accompanied by complex sounds, movements and sometimes display flights. This talk will discuss the varied types of audible and visual communication, illustrated in large part by UK and European examples but also some species from farther afield.
