Tree Group

Volunteer day – Today, we will gather together as usual at The Market House at 11:00am. We will be doing maintenance work and tree planting on a site just off Winterhay Lane. You will need good strong outdoor gear and tools such as a pair of secateurs or a sickle. This is a rough, sloping site where trees have been planted in several different years. We will be clearing away brambles and nettles to give some of the more recently planted trees a bit more growing room with less competition from some of the surrounding plants. We will also plant some bare root saplings and some oak trees grown from acorns in pots, which are now ready for transplanting. Sorry, but this session is not suitable for young children.

Feel free to bring a flask. However, we plan to return to town on completion of the work and discuss our efforts at The Gamesmaster Café.
